Okay since it is summer I have been making Key Lime Pies at NJ's and was wondering who has the best? Do you prefer tart or sweet. Mine have been really tart in my opinion which is how I likes it

Okay tonight they had a couple pieces left but I am sure I will have some there tomorrow after lunch maybe before if I can drag myself out of bed to make it. I say it is a key lime pie but it is truly more of a key lime ice box pie but should be tart. Bring someone with a sweet tooth as well and try the chocolate brownie peanut butter cheesecake. Also my creation. And please let me know what you liked and didn't always enjoy criticism and comments

NJ's is out in the boonies known as La Grange on Main Street across from the courthouse. Their number is 222-8044 and there website in in the hotlink part of hot bites. I would really like to thank Robin again for this awesome site as I have found many a great place to eat just from these boards. I always recommend this site above all others for insight into our restaurant community

Oh yeah I forgot not all peopl have heard me harping about them but living out here it is the closest good locally owned place. I do enjoy my bardstown rd frankfort rd but for a close locally owned place I go to NJ's or even Steve O's. For some reason the Irish rover in lagrange just never is as good as the one on Frankfort

it MUST be tart...and from what I hear, the crust should be pastry not graham according to the conchers (I think that is what Key Westers call themselves...I've met.....of course that is open to debate...

Well I guess I best not head down to Key west with it. I use graham cracker crusts. I never really cared for pastry crust I think the sweetness of the grahams helps with the tartness.

By the way, the key lime pie at Mojito is awesome - sweet-tart, creamy ... and comes on a thick graham-cracker crust.

I love key lime pie. My preference is tart to the point that I need to shave after eating a piece.
