Friday's on Lime Kiln

by Jamie Gerch » Thu Aug 02, 2007 8:07 pm

Not that anyone on this forum is probably a big fan of TGI Friday's, but I drove past the Friday's on Lime Kiln today and thier signs are gone and the place is shut down. Just and FYI...

Was there one on Lime Kiln? I only knew of Lynn Station and 4th Street.

Brian, the one on Lime Kiln was at the corner of U.S. 22 and Lime Kiln diagonally across from the Thorton's. Every time I've been in there recently it hasn't been crowded. It seemed to have a steady but not large business. If it is closed, I guess it was because it just wasn't a profitable location.

Has anyone confirmed it is actually closed and not just being remodeled or something like that?

Not that I like to see any establishment close.....
but, ding dong the witch is dead!

It was long overdue, they should have shut that place down after they served someone already intoxicated, getting behind a wheel, and killing himself and two teenagers.!

Last two times I was at that one, and it wasn't all that late, they had drunk folks in there. One time they were bowling with glasses and ketchup bottles. (another reason to not like em...) and it created an enormous mess.

when Friday's starting selling all of their food in the freezer section of the grocery store, people started realizing that they were paying a lot of money for some highschool kid to pop their dinner into a microwave and have it served to them by someone wearing too many buttons on their shirt.

That case was very very sad. The good that came out of it was that the state has started to put up barriers in the center median of the interstates around Louisville to prevent head-on collisions.

I just ate there on Sunday. (We needed someplace quick, close, and not crowded). It was pretty much empty.

In my opinion.......

The whole whole thing could go belly-up and it wouldn't be missed. Friday's used to be such a fun place, with friendly people, good food and a wonderful dining experience. However, the last time I was there, I got a bit of tummy trouble from the salad I had, and it really wasn't that good, but I was hungry.

I seldom went to the Lime Kiln location, but we used to go to the one at Lynn Station all the time, and I would often go to the one in Terre Haute when I went to school there. IT just isn't the same anymore. Anything I used to like is gone now. I still have a lot of points left to get appetizers from, and would have more if one of the cards they gave didn't shred like it got hit by a buzzsaw.

TGIFridays sign on the door

by Fanny Timmer » Fri Aug 03, 2007 11:06 pm

There is a sign posted on the door which says something to the effect of "Thanks for the 12 years of patronage...We are closed. Visit our other 2 locations."

Just go to Mojito's up the way for some real tasty treats. I doubt any one over 19 years old will miss that TGI Friday's and the crap they served. however, You still have Austin's in the neighbohood.
