Just had a great lunch for an old Chicago guy, Vienna Clark St. Hotdog with Fries... Great service, perfect Chicago type presentation on the dog... Fluorescent relish, onions, Sport peppers in the ends Celery salt and a cucumber all on a poppyseed bun. Friendly people and a great lunch

Clearly I've bot been paying attention. Did they move or is this a second shop, and where on Bardstown is it located?

It is just south of the KFC at the Bardstown Rd/Baxter Ave/Highland Ave intersection. It is the red brick building at the back side of the parking lot.

I believe it is a second location.

It is a second location, they're still going strong on St. Matthews Avenue. (Actually, THAT was the second location, since the place where Lonnie's used to be is out Westport Road near Plantation. ;)

Obviously the Highlands branch doesn't have a really high profile. They've been there at least a year.

anybody know what was up with the FOR LEASE sign that was attached to the building for the past several weeks? It is gone now, but we were concerned, just too busy to stop in and inquire.

Someone mentioned on another thread the 'For Lease' Sign was space in the same building as Lonnies. But, it did not have anything to do with Lonnies going out of business. That's the only thing I've seen on LHB.

I think the sign referred to was on Derby City Dogs.

It was. That thread was about DCD, and a poster noted that the sign referred to the office space upstairs.

For clarity, DCD is on Baxter Ave. close to O'Shea's, across from Wick's. Lonnie's is on Bardstown Road, close to KFC and across from Cahoot's, and is in the old church.

And for additional clarity (or maybe not!) Derby City Dogs is DEFINITELY closed! Awning gone, signage gone - locked up tight!

Yeah, DCD was gone when I went by today. Nutty.

But I promise you, there was a FOR LEASE sign on Lonnie's building for a few weeks and tomorrow I will find out why and let you know what I find.

Bad news....stopped by Lonnies today for a combo. I asked about the "for lease" sign. They are out of there after this Thursday. The lady at the counter said it just wasn't making enough to stay profitable. They will still be in St Matts of course, and will be looking for another spot to open again. She said they were looking at three different places now,but nothing is for certain. I know a lot of time and money went into this location, really too bad. She cited the lack of parking as being one the main problems. So from now on when I need my fix, its over to St Matts.

Rats. Had I known the BR location even existed, I might have been able to single-handedly keep it in business.

Drat! The BR location is so close to us. We have tried hard to be good and regular patrons. We feared the worst when we saw the sign. Drat!

Its like hot dogs exploded on Bardstown Rd two years ago and now they are imploding back into themselves.

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if the proximity of DCD to Lonnie's ended up killing them both. I will especially miss Lonnie's.

What's the name of the hotdog place at Bardstown and Speed? Any good?
