Good Vegan Options?

I'm an omnivore and will be hosting an out-of-town guest who happens to be vegan. I would like to expose him to as many awesome local offerings as possible, and IIRC, many, if not most, have excellent *vegetarian* options, but I can't think of as many that have *vegan* offerings. I know there's always Zen Garden, but does anyone else have other ideas? I just can't imagine living a life without cheese or butter.

I have some vegetarian and vegan friends who go to The Swan Dive quite a bit. Most Indian restaurants have vegan options as well.

Most of the Indian and most of the Thai places recommended elsewhere here will have vegan options.

I second the Swan Dive. Damn, their food is good and good beero n tap also. How much better can it get?

DakShin Indian has quite a few vegetarian/possibly vegan options, and the food is top notch.

Ramsi's has vegan options. One of the veggie dogs at Conez n Coneyz is vegan as well. Vietnam Kitchen, any of the local indian establishments should be accommodating.

Dragon King's Daughter (Bardstown Rd.) has many, many creative vegan choices.

I highly recommend both.

Meridian Cafe has lots of vegan options in a quaint atmosphere.
BTW, I understand that they will be in attendance at the "Fork, Cork, and Style" event with Emeril Lagasse this weekend! Sorry Robin, shameless plug, but at least I am not connected.

Smoketown has a surprising number of vegan side dishes. I always forget about them, because they're off the beaten track.
