Re: NO ICE PLEASE... and get a glass or cup half filled...

Too funny. Yes, you are getting more product if you don't have ice and they fill it up. However, the number of people who order no ice in my experience is so small that it is not worth alienating a customer by only giving them half a cup. I remember when my mother, son and I went to Borders. Remember she is English, and ice is a luxury there for some apparent reason beyond me. Anyway, my son ordered a coke and my Mother was disgusted by how little liquid was in the cup versus how much ice. She complained and got it topped up after he had drank half of it.

Wow! That is just REALLY poor customer service, and a terrible policy. I'd be ticked, too.

Disagree. It's bad form to serve anything half-full, even if you have a good reason (not doubling the serving amount of expensive beverage to make up for room usually taken up by inexpensive ice).

Answer: serve ice-less drinks in a smaller cup.

Good solution, Marsha. I believe that the customer got exactly what she ordered, not half of what she ordered and has no reason to be upset.

Yep! And if it was lukewarm, it's probably because it was freshly made, not because it was "sitting out".

LOL - hey, Leah: I'd like a wedding cake, light on the cake please, matter of fact, just skip the cake, make it all frosting. But make sure it's as big as a regular cake!

What the hell, throw on some whipped cream...no air in there, though, please!

Agreed. I am sure a large calls for a cup of this a half cup of that and so on... and that's what you got. Without the ice they may of had to double or even triple the recipe. Now why did they serve it in such a big cup? You got me. I would have downsized the cup and explained that you got everything you would have normally received. If it was just a Coke (inexpensive) I probably would have just given you the full large.

If you ordered an L.I.T. with no coke or sour mix, would you expect the glass to be full?

I'll have a bourbon on the rocks, no ice.

Yeah - somebody should tell the writer the cost of a carton of Chai. I recall paying $8 around twelve years ago for the Oregon Chai brand. How many ounces are in that? Please.

As for the cup size, maybe they don't have smaller cold cups.

I'm gonna write a nasty note about the last restaurant I visited where I declined free bread and didn't get a discount at the end of the meal.

Just ask for the drink hot with several cubes of ice. Also if you spend a couple hundred dollars in several years you may want to read more. Maybe a book on cooling off beverages.

I have to agree - when ordering a drink sold by the cup without ice, it's reasonable to get the equivalent of what you normally would with ice. It looks bad in the same
sized cup, sure, but you get what you pay for.

Of course when I'm having a soft drink in a restaurant with free refills and I ask for no ice, you are only creating more work for yourself if you don't fill it up the first time ;).
