Village Anchor Pub & Roost OFFLINE?

by Robin Garr » Mon Jul 19, 2010 3:21 pm

April says they would LOVE to accommodate our group, estimated at 20 or so, on the Lanai. Who's up for it?

Our tasks, if we want to make this happen:

1. Find a consensus date.

2. Sign up.

3. Someone volunteer to organize.

Not necessarily in that order. ;)

Greasy Fried Chicken isn't sounding to appetizing at the moment

I'm going to try to make it, depending on date/time.

Gayle, I'd be happy for you to, although I think someone was trying to draft Steve A in another thread. :) Maybe the two of you could talk and consider double-teaming to cut the work in half?

For the record, a consistent FAIL at deep frying knocked them down a bit in my rating compared with the CJ's judgment of perfection, but it's still a damn good place, with outstanding atmosphere and an excellent bill of fare.

And I kind of suspect that they've taken a look t that frying issue by now. ;)

I'm going to try to make it, depending on date/time.

Excellent!

Maybe they have been real busy and the fryer temp didn't have time to recover. Or they weren't allowing time. We only eat fried chicken once a year - at st. Josephs picnic. We don't eat fried food. My mother never fried nor have I. Fried food can taste good!

Oh, Robin, I'd be more than happy to let Steve A handle this. I'd also be willing to work with him. Whatever is needed to get this offline a happening event.

Totally agree, Gayle! I want this to happen so I can go back to the Pub & Roost. :)

I only wanted to make sure that Steve's toes didn't get stepped on, because I *think* I remember there being talk in another thread about making the new guy do the work ... Could you PM him?

It could be a possibility for us. But first I need to be sure my "papers" are in order and then there is that whole misunderstanding about the morals charges in Paducah many years ago.
