What's your food choice this July 4th?

by Bill P » Sun Jul 04, 2010 10:25 am

NJ and I are keeping it local and Americanized as possible:

Grilled sirloin steak (antibiotic free, growth hormone free, "never sees a commercial feedlot" beef from 3-D Farms in Depauw, IN)
Local Indiana sweet corn
Mixed salad greens from our garden
A California wine, most likely a Zinfandel.

What's on your menu?

Any good thing we can find at the Crescent Hill Party. I am sure that will not be a difficult call.

If the halibut came blackened from the ocean it must be from The Gulf of Mexico.

For lunch, the season's first BLT's, tomato from our garden and bacon from Dreamcatcher Farm.

For dinner, Schacht Farm chicken thighs, oven-"fried."

A wedding reception ? On the Fourth of July ? With apologies to the groom, that's about as smart as getting married on the first day of Deer season. His holiday weekends are screwed for life.

Steve,
The "halibut" we've been getting from Dogcatcher© Fish Farm is quite good.
