Corner Cafe to close after 40 years

Business First is reporting that the Corner Cafe, at 9307 New La Grange Road in Lyndon, will close in late April. It opened in 1986. Business is still good, but it sounds like the owners are burned out, partly because they’ve had trouble hiring enough staff.

The owners of Tikka House in St. Matthews are buying the restaurant equipment and taking over the space. The story doesn’t say if Tikka House is moving, or opening a second location.

I ordered Tikka House for delivery once during COVID. My dish was extremely light on the protein and I never tried it again. I wish them luck with whatever they're doing.

I'd encourage you to give Tikka House another try. I go there regularly, and I don't think I've ever had a bad meal.

I'm sort of in the middle between you two. I loved Tikka House when it opened but thought it lost a step or two after the pandemic. In fairness, I haven't been back for a while and should probably remedy that.
