Re: Incredibly sad news: Bim Deitrich has died.

I saw that a GoFundMe has been created to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in his memory. According to this information, he died of leukemia.

Re: Incredibly sad news: Bim Deitrich has died.

Heartbreaking news. His mark on the Louisville dining scene is undeniable and I enjoyed frequenting many of his establishments as a young and up-and-comer and marveling at the operations. A class act from start to finish. Brasserie and Allo were two of my favorites and I am still impressed to this d...

Yes, although I'm not sure whether he owned it or consulted, and it was never clear to me how active a role he had in the everyday operation.

Re: Incredibly sad news: Bim Deitrich has died.

What were his restaurants, for those of us who are just learning about him now? I'm trying to remember all the restaurants that Bim operated, Iggy. I come up with: Myra's Langtry's Dietrich's in the Crescent Allo Spiedo RED Lounge Primo Am I missing any? Was he one of the crew at the ...

Re: Incredibly sad news: Bim Deitrich has died.

Thanks for posting, Len. That is very sad. I learned of this today from the proprietor of Vines on Douglass, where Bim contributed briefly. He knew a lot about wine and taught me stuff when we visited Primo and then, later, at Vines. He was the consummate host.

Am I missing any? Was he one of the crew at the original Bristol?

Re: Incredibly sad news: Bim Deitrich has died.

I am genuinely sorrowful hearing this. I worked with him at Langtry’s years ago. He was so generous with sharing what he knew. I learned more about the restaurant business from him than any other mentor I worked with. His restaurants were wonderful. This is a real loss to the industry.
